We then enter the waterways of the Okavango Delta… where our local guides pole us through this African wilderness. Visit Makgadikgadi Pans and the Khama Rhino Sanctuary. Accommodation is in chalets, bungalows and semi luxury camping.

Tour Itinerary

  • Day 1: Victoria Falls to Chobe National Park

    Our tour begins with an early departure from Victoria Falls. It is a fairly short drive to the border and then on to Kasane – a small wilderness town on the edge of the Chobe National Park. It is not unusual to encounter elephants or buffalo in the streets of Kasane. After lunch there is an opportunity to do an optional 4×4 game drive in the Chobe National Park. The Chobe is well known for its huge herds of elephants and a high concentration of predators. In the late afternoon we enjoy a cruise down the Chobe River. Expect to encounter elephant, hippos, crocodiles and a large variety of antelope. Have your cameras ready. Note it is advised that clients arrive a couple of days before departure to experience the magnificent Victoria Falls.

  • DAY 2: Chobe National Park to Gweta

    Today we travel through rural Botswana to Gweta – the gateway to Makgadikgadi and Nxai Pans. Elephant and buffalo are often spotted alongside the roads as the area is largely unfenced allowing the wildlife to roam free. In the afternoon there is an option to do an optional excursion to the salt pans or the Baobab Forest, or just relax at the lodge.

  • DAY 3: Gweta to Maun

    An early breakfast is followed by a guided walk through the local Tswana village, providing insight into local culture and traditions. We then travel to Maun – the gateway to the Okavango Delta. Arriving in Maun, a real frontier town, we stock up on provisions before heading to our remote camp. The afternoon is spent lounging by the pool soaking up the bush atmosphere.

  • DAY 4 & 5: Kruger National Park

    An exciting day begins with a 4×4 transfer deep into the bush to the delta. We meet our local guides and pack our gear into the makoros (traditional canoes). We pole our way through this amazing wilderness area, with its winding waterways and incredible birdlife. One can expect to see some of the resident wildlife. The Okavango Delta is one of Africa’s true wilderness areas and many species of animals roam freely and migrate to the water during the dry months. The night is spent in a tented camp and there is time to explore the area on foot. The Okavango Delta is a well-known safari destination and famous for its wildlife, birdlife and incredible beauty. The evening is spent in permanent tents with basic en-suite facilities. In the morning we head off on an early morning informative nature walk. After breakfast, we depart our camp and pole through the channels back to our land transport. The afternoon is spent exploring this safari town.

  • DAY 6: Maun to Khama Rhino Sanctuary

    We depart the waterways of the Okavango and travel through the dry Kalahari. Our destination is the Rhino sanctuary located on the Serowe Pan on the edge of the Kalahari. In the afternoon we head out with local rangers on open vehicles to explore the area and learn about the endangered rhino as well as other interesting info about the local area.

  • DAY 7: Botswana to Johannesburg

    The final day of our Victoria Falls to the Okavango Delta tour sees us crossing the Limpopo River and travelling through South Africa to the metropolis of Johannesburg. We arrive in Johannesburg in the late afternoon.
